Museum Associates

Museum Associates supports the work of the Museum by building on the size and quality of the art and archaeology acquisitions, exhibitions, publications and educational programs. Each contribution supports the growth of one of mid-Missouri's most important cultural resources.

Members receive a Museum tour with a docent; invitations to members-only exhibition previews and receptions; 10% discount in the Museum Store; free subscription to the Museum of Art and Archaeology Magazine, which includes a calendar of events; and advanced notice of trips and special events. Members of the Museum’s Heroes Circle ($100 and up) also receive complimentary admission and gift shop discounts at museums across the United States and Canada. For a full list of reciprocal museums see the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Program.

Museum Advisory Council of Students (MACS)

MACS logoThe Museum Advisory Council of Students, formed in January 2006, is an advisory group of MU undergraduate and graduates students. The purpose of MACS is to raise awareness of the art resources, exhibitions and public programs available at the Museum of Art and Archaeology to the students of MU. MACS helps organize and present special events, artists' talks, and tours, and assists in notifying faculty, staff, and students of upcoming exhibitions and events. MACS serves as an advisory group to the Museum staff, and meets monthly at the Museum for lively discussions of how the Museum is perceived, how to engage more students, and imaginative ways that the Museum could be serving the campus.

The Museum relies on our Student Advisory council members to keep us connected to students. We are seeking new members from all disciples who are interested in the arts and who would like to help the Museum achieve its mission to raise awareness of the art resources, exhibitions and public programs available at the Museum of Art and Archaeology to the students of MU. For further information about MACS, contact the Museum Educator at 882-5076.
